Prima for Peyton

I had to do something special for this beautiful picture of Peyton, Michele worked so hard to get that perfect picture and as always she got it. So now it was my turn to make something beautiful, so I decided to try something new, plus it was part of my kit from Scrappy Chic.  So this is my first attempt at making ribbon roses and the first time I have used Prima Cardstock (crazy right?!) I’ve never used Prima mainly because the scrapbook store nearest to my house doesn’t carry it, sad I know. Yet another reason that I am grateful I was chosen to be a design team member at Scrappy Chic. Well this was my first go round and I’m pretty proud of this page, I think that it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself. I am sure I will be making lots more roses and I know I will be using a ton more Prima!

Working at the Car Wash

Sydney had so much fun washing the car with her daddy. It was so funny to see a two year old washing a car that had only been detailed by hand before she was born, it’s funny how much kids change everything!

As you may or may not be able to tell by know I really like my two pagers and I’m not so great at the journaling. So the little cheat that I used on this page was to write directly on the picture. Now I know it’s not journaling but it’s better than nothing and it makes me smile every time I think of Syd calling the Jaguar a kitty.

Products used: Basic Grey Konnichiwa & Kissing Booth Collections, Kaisercraft Fine & Sunny Collection, Eyelets, Twine, MM Snaps, Distressing tool, and Distressing Ink.

Real Simple Two Pager

It’s a super simple layout but I really like it because I’m actually in the pictures! I used a two page sketch from Scrapbook ECT. And it worked great for all the little pictures of the skaters. I bet it would work great for a zoo page or anything that you have a ton of pictures that aren’t great but you want to include.

A few Simple Tricks

Using up the attic Stash!

I finished this layout on my last trip to the Gotta Scrap Inn in Manchester, Mi. If you have never been you really should make the trip! But back to my layout I used Reminisce’s Happy Easter Collection and a bit of Bazzill. I really liked the way I cut the bunnies ears out so they would not be lost behind the pictures. I hope you all like the layout, Happy Bunny Day Everyone!

One of my Favorites

This page is a bit of a hodge-podge but it is one of my favorites! My favorite thing about this page is the picture, Sydney is of course not looking at the camera but I just love the fact that she thinks if she kisses frog it will turn in to a prince. Yes, she truly believes she is a princess.
Products: Basic Grey, Bazzill and K& Company, Recollections Embellishments, Kaiser Rhinestones, Jolee’s Boutique Stickers and KI Memories paper lace. I also used a little distressing ink and glimmer mist.

Welcome to my Outlet!

A little about me:  My name is Lanette, and I live in south-eastern Michigan with my husband, two daughters and three cats. I have been scrapbooking for about five years and I have the stash to prove it. I have always enjoyed scrapping but my girls have turned my scrapping hobby into a true obsession.

My daughters have changed a lot of things in my life as all children do. After the birth of my second daughter we decided that it only made sense for me to stay home with the girls. So I have been a stay-at-home mommy for a little over a year now and on certain days I think my last job was easier. Previously, I was a Branch Manager working roughly sixty hours a week. My job was crazy and at times it made me crazy but it was a huge part of who I was. Now don’t get me wrong, I love being home with my girls, but at times I miss the working world (aka the grown-ups).

So there is the reason for my blog - I needed an outlet and a tie to the grown-up world. So when you stop by, expect anything from my latest layout, card or altered project, a recipe, and very possibly a random rant.
