As you may or may not know I am one of those people that need pages to match before they make it into an album, crazy I know. So I when I saw this sketch I was excited because it pairs up perfectly with another LO that I recently completed for Practical Scrappers & Scrappy Chic.

To make the two individual Sketches match up I simply used the same paper collection and techniques to make the background and embellishments. Here are the layouts together.

Now its your turn to enjoy Diana's sketch and get creative!

You have until August 31st to link up your layout at  ScrapFIT. The winner will be announced on September 1st and receive one of our very first FITkit!

Home Made Embellishments

When I opened my kit from Scrappy Chic I was really happy to find lots of bright cheerful colors but as much as I love bright colors sometimes a little goes along way. With that in mind I found this great sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.
First it was time to have some real fun making the background. I stamped with acrylic paint, stamped with distressed ink and finished it off with a bit of Mister Huey’s Mist.
While the background dried, I went to work making my embellishments. I picked two patterns for my rosettes. Then I used some scraps to customize some clear buttons. I just love buttons they add so much to a layout and there are so many ways to use them. Hop on over to Practical Scrappers where we have 10 more ways to use buttons, well nine anyhow J.

I really had something completely different in mind when I first saw the papers Angela had picked out for me this month but this is what I ended up with.
I used a few of my little tricks to make custom embellishments, using clear buttons and glossy accents.
