Starry Inspiration with Art Anthology

Hello All! Today I'm up over at Art Anthology sharing my Starry Inspiration Canvas

This month the  Dream Team's challenge was "Art Appreciation" . For my project I choose Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night for my inspiration....

I started by pulling out any and all my blues.....

For my first layer of color was a heavy mix of Corlorations. After my mist dried I lathered on a mix of  several Blue Velvets....

Before my Velvets dried a used my catalyst  tool to add a ton of texture and movement to my canvas. I even mixed in a bit of Dimensional Crystal!

After my layer of blues dried I smoothed on a bit MUD (our new smooth paste) to form the base of my circles, which I quickly covered with a bit of Vegas Gold.

Before my layer of Vegas Gold could dry a pushed my
Hurricane Stencil into the paint and added a bit more paint.

Which brought me to this stage......

For my finishing touches I added a quick platter of Raider and a Van Gogh quote.

A closer look just for fun....

While I know I am no Van Gogh....

I hope I have inspired you to play with your paints today!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Seeking Serenity in 2015.....

Hello All, I hope your year is off to a good start! Mine has been a bit rough over the last few months.... as you may have noticed by my missing posts. But the good news is I think that I am getting a handle on things and hopefully I will be back to myself soon! I just need to find serenity. Which is exactly what plan to do in 2015.

As you may know its become a bit of a tradition over at S.W.A.T. to start the year off with a resolutions for the first drill of the year and this year is no different.......

So that's it we challenge you to pick one word for 2015 and create one project to showcase that word.

*projects can be layouts, Art Journal Pages, Canvas or other Altered Projects.

For this month we really want you to be motivated so the winner of this months drills will receive a $20 Gift Card to the......

Now before you leave lets take a look at my word..........

To help me find Serenity I know that I will need to make time for my mind to be at peace and the only time that that truly happens is when my hands are covered in color and my Art Journal is on my desk. So that's were I started.... and this is the page that I ended up with.

To create my page I used Lindy's Stamp Gang mist, Art Anthology Gesso and a few drops of dimensional Crystals.

Basically Bare little blank slates!

Hello All!

Today I'm up over on the Basically Bare Blog sharing a bit of Scrappy Fun!

I was lucky enough to play with Basically Bare's New Mixed Media Pocket Cards and let me tell you they are so much fun!!
What are these little blank slates waiting for your creativity??? They are a mix of acrylic, chipboard and watercolor cards and I had so much fun playing with these new Mixed Media Cards.

A bit to much because..... I forgot to take pictures of my process... :(

But lets take a look at the cards I made anyhow :)

Here are  the cards I made using the watercolor paper:

I created the first & second  card using gelatos.
The third is misted using Art Anthology Colorations spray.

Next I played a bit with the Acrylic Cards:

For the first card I created a little cheater sequin pocket with a bit of bling and glue. For the second card I created an overlay using staz on ink and a mix of Alcohol Inks.

The last cards I created with the Chipboard Tags:

The first card was heat embossed and layered with a scrap of paper and a sticker. The second was covered with paper and ran through my big shot.

Finally my last card, which I used for my title.

I started this card was dry embossed covered in stunning Art Anthology Colorations and Velvet. Then Heat embossed and topped of with a die cut title.

Now lets check out my layout :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
hope I have inspired you to create something fun!

Down the Rabbit Hole with Sin City.....

Hello All!

I had so much fun playing with a bunch of Sin City Stamps! I must say I think I may be addicted! Here is a Peek.....

But before we get started lets take a look at the stamp sets I used:

Alice Art Rubber Stamps

Knock on Wood

Now lets dig in...

I started by sketching out my canvas and building my back ground using a mix of Art Anthology Products

After my applying my first layer of color I started adding some texture to my tree using a PITT Marker and this stunning Wood grain stamp from the Knock on Wood Collection.

Next I stamped and my Alice Image three times using a waterproof ink, I used Staz On Ink and colored my images using PITT Markers.

Additionally I stamped one more Alice on vellum,

After coloring my images I started fussy cutting my bits and pieces....

Next I started building my Canvas..

After adding my quote and a bit more paint I finally finished up my canvas and I must say I love it!!

And just for fun here are some details :)

Here you can see h pieced together my Alice using a
bit of foam tape to give her just a little pop :)

Thank you so much for stopping by today!!
