Project Life Blog Hop!

You should have found your way here from Claude Campeau's Blog, if you have stumbled across this hop by chance hop back to Practical Scrappers so you don't miss the HOP!

Hello and welcome to the

Blog Hop!

We thought it would be fun to combine forces and share  projects with you that have our design teams’ takes on one of the hottest scrapbooking trends around:  Project Life.

Whether you are a “Project Lifer,” are just interested in Project Life like me I'm sure you  have seen it somewhere, after all its everywhere and its such a great way to document all of our memories in a scrappy way! So with that in mind I decided to give it a try. NOW remember..... I have never tried Project Life and I really can't imagine it ever being the only way I scrap. That being said I think its a great way to try and keep up with my scrapping. Because its really quick, easy and a fool proof method to scrap (or so I've been told).

So with that in mind I decide to jump on the band wagon and give it try :)

Because I'm not sure how I'm going to do this I just picked a day and ran with it... after all I'm just getting my feet wet right???

Here is my page , I used Echo Park's Here & Now Collection.

As you can see I don't have the proper page protectors so I used some old We R' Memories 4x6 Photo holders.  After all I want to try this be for I shop more :) and now page two:

and finally together :)

Fun! Simple! & Quick and really hard for me :) but we will see I'm sure I will have more to share from time to time.

Now remember we have a $25 gift certificate  to Scraptown Lady’s shop up for grabs,  so make sure you follow the rules and complete the hop :)

Fussy What?

I have been asked several times to define my style and every time  I struggle with the answer. Because sometimes I'm Clean & Simple, sometimes I Shabby Chic and on occasion I'm even a  bit Artsy, really I just start with my paper and go where it takes me. But there is one thing that most if not all my pages have in common and that is fussy cutting, I just love to cut! Truth be told its really quite the stress reliever for me :)

But what is what is fussy cutting you might ask? Put simply Fussy Cutting is just cutting out intricate paper details by hand for your scrapbook projects.

Easy right! Well truth be told sometimes it can be challenging for those of us with less-than-nimble fingers. However here are few tricks that can get you cutting accents for your projects in no time.
  • Choose a sharp pair of micro-tip scissors. The smaller the tip, the easier it will be to snip out those tight corners when cutting out your image.
**This is my favorite pair ever (this is my second set!)
  • Start Big to Small. Start by roughly cutting out the image so you can easily handle the image as you cut out the details.
  • Always Turn your paper, not your scissors! This is a must I know this is hard for those of you  that sew.
  • Place your paper where the blades meet, not the tip. This will make it easier to maneuver around the image leaving you with clean-cut edges.
  • Ink you edges this will give your cuts a finished look.

Today at Practical Scrappers the ladies have put together some great examples of fussy cutting. Here is mine:

Products Used: Bo Bunny Ambrosia Collection, Bo Bunny Dollie, Embossing Powder, American Craft Thickers, Bo Bunny Bling & a bit of Ribbon from my stash.

Here a bit of the details of my card :)

Lots of layers...

Some embossed thickers...

 A bit of bling...

A bit of foam goes a long way :)

Now make sure you hop over to Practical Scrappers I know the ladies have some beautiful projects to share with you.

Thanks for stopping by today!
