Now, I know that this just sounds crazy for some people and maybe even a little scary. But I promise if you give it a go you will enjoy it at least a little, you might even love it!! As for me I love it! Now don't get me wrong, I love my simple scrapping and my clean LO's documenting my families memories. But I truly enjoy playing with my mixed media products. I just love the process, the techniques and mess! Most of all I love how much you can express using different colors and textures!

For my project I started with a quote from Dr. Seuss and a few of my favorite colors. I had so much fun creating this panel I hope you like it.

Products Used: Art Anthology Paint, Lindy Stamp Gang Mist, Prima Stamp & Flower, Basic Gray Flower, Misc Puzzle Pieces, Tim Hotz Stamps & Ink, Pink Paislee Tissue Paper and Faber Castell markers & Gesso.

If you had asked me a few years ago if I thought gold would be making a comeback,  I would have said no way.  I would have been sad because to tell the truth I never stopped loving gold! So I was more than excited when Practical Scrappers challenged us to share a "Golden Project"

So here is my project, I started by grapping the first golden thing in my stash that I knew I had to use. That's right! Studio Calico's Gold Doilies don't you just love them!! I know I do :)

I know Valentines is over but it's still February and I just love Red with Gold, which lead me to this:

Products Used: Authentique Smitten Collection, Gold Embossing Powder, Studio Calico Gold Doilie, Tim Holtz Die, Art Anthology Paint and a bit of Ribbon.

You have to take a look at the sparkle the Art Anthology adds, don't you just love it!!

Love is in the Air over at Paper Secrets!

Hello All!

I just wanted to stop in and remind you all that Paper Secrets has their second second sketch up for the month and as always its another great one!

Here it is:
Word: Love

Now remember you must include items, colors, brands, etc. beginning with each of the letter of the word - WINTER.  You must use a different item for each letter ( for example you CAN NOT use white cardstock to represent "w" and "c" as "w"hite & "c"ardstock).

Here is my take on Kelly's sketch:

L-Lace
                       O-Orange & a Oval Journal Tag
  V-Vellum
        EEnamel Dots

Here are some details just for fun:)

Lots of layers & tons of fussy cutting :)

Now its your turn make sure you link up your layout over at Paper Secrets by Feb 28th for your chance to win a $10 Gift card to shop in the store! By the way if you like the collection I used to create my layout you can find it in the store. Make sure you take time to shop around you will find LOTS of GREAT DEALS!!!

Products Used: Authentique-Grace Collection,Misc Ribbon & Lace, Vellum and a few Enamel Dots.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Its Art Journal Day over at Practical Scrappers!

I must say one of my favorite new features at Practical Scrappers the monthly Art Journal pages! I just love playing in my Art Journal, it helps me get out of my scrappy rutt and allows me to just play and get messy! You know I love to get messy!!
.
This month we were given a quote by Vincent Van Gough to inspire our page. Here is a look at my page:
Products Used: American Crafts Patten  Paper, Dylusions Mist, Tissue Paper, Vellum, Gesso, Art Anthology, Acrylic Paint, Ranger Ink, Tim Holtz Stamps, Faber Castell Markers and bunch of stencils.

As you can see my page is full of color and reads Love Life at first glance,  but when you look closer you see the full quote:

"The way to know life is to love many things" - Vincent Van Gogh

Here are just few closer looks at my page:

Lots of sparkle and shine and tons of doddles :)

Lots of funky teature thanks to a bit of tissue paper.

Now you can see why these are some of my
very favorite things to play with!!

Have a Great Day and thank you for stopping by!
I hope that this inspires you to open up your Art Journal & Get Messy!! Now don't forget the other ladies have even more inspiration up over at Practical Scrappers for you so hop on over.

Scraplifting Inspiration over on Imaginisce

As you all know its super easy for crafters to get into a creative rutt sometimes and have difficulty coming up with creative ideas. Finding inspiration online (i.e. Pinterest, Facebook, online scrappy galleries/blogs) are a great place to start and get those creative juices flowing.  As is scraplifting one of your favorite designers. You can choose to create something that is very similar or just pick a few elements that you'd like to incorporate into your work (as long as you always give credit when credit is do :)).

Right now I have found myself in quite the scrappy rutt,  so you can imagine how excited I was to find out this weeks assignment was to scraplift  another design team members work!! I must admit the hardest part is picking who and what you are going to lift. I finally decided on a beautiful LO created by Monique Liedtke using the  super cute Bushel of fall Collection. You can see her LO over on the Imaginisce Blog today

Here is my take on her beautiful layout:

Products Used: Imaginisce Pattern Paper –My Baby, Layered Stickers and Buttons,American Crafts White Cardstock, Twine, Foam Adhesive, Double Sided Adhesive and a Bo Bunny Dolie.
Just a few details just for fun :)

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

I hope you enjoyed my lift of the super talented Monique Liedtke
